Sender ID Guidelines

Alphanumeric Sender ID

French operators recommend using alpha sender IDs to send A2P traffic to all networks in France. CRMM has a process of *whitelisting alpha senders that could also be used per use case.

Messages with sender IDs submitted to the NRJ Mobile and Truephone networks will be overwritten with random shortcodes outside CRMM platform.

Numeric Sender ID

Numeric sender IDs are not supported

Numeric Sender IDs may be overwritten to ensure delivery.

CRMM French LVNs are strictly for P2P communication only, and cannot be used to send any A2P messages.

Generic Sender IDGeneric sender IDs such as VERIFY, INFO, SMS, NOTICE etc are prohibited. Please use a representative brand or business name to ensure delivery.

*To initiate the Sender ID registration process, please check contact your account manager or support

Use-Case & Content Guidelines

Transactional Traffic

All transactional traffic will be delivered directly to carriers using 38XXX shortcodes or alphanumeric binds used specifically for this traffic type. To ensure the traffic is identified as such and delivered through the correct routes, contact your account manager or submit a support request.

Marketing Traffic

  • Marketing or promotional content is limited to certain regulatory conditions. Any traffic not identified as transactional will automatically be subject to these regulatory conditions to avoid malfeasance.
  • Carriers will only accept delivery between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. local time Monday to Saturday. Traffic sent outside these hours will be rejected.
  • Marketing Traffic during public holidays in France will not be delivered as per the operator rules.
  • Marketing traffic must add ‘STOP au 36179’ at the end of the SMS or messages will be rejected. CRMM will handle the reply to prevent further messages sent to this number.
  • If your account was moved to the marketing group by arranging that with the account manager team and you send the messages using alpha sender id, then CRMM will append the STOP au 36xxx at the end of each of your messages automatically, please don’t send it from your side to avoid duplicates.
  • If you send the traffic from the numeric sender, then CRMM will convert the sender to the Shortcode number instead and we don’t send STOP at the end of the messages.

LVN Delivery

  • French networks do not allow numeric Sender IDs that are not virtual numbers, to avoid spoofing of identities.
  • Outbound messages from French Long Virtual Numbers are throttled at 1 SMS every 2 seconds. CRMM virtual numbers are available in the Numbers tab of the account Dashboard (only for P2P traffic for France).
  • LVNs must only be used for P2P traffic. Carriers will block excessive use of these LVNs, over approximately 500 SMS per LVN per day.

M-2-M

Currently, we are unable to support machine-to-machine traffic via our French routes.

Additional Information

P2P traffic is prohibited over alpha sender id.

No political, religious, unsolicited promotion, adult content, or gambling content are allowed.

There are no additional content restrictions beyond those in our Acceptable Use Policy.
