Meta is moving away from conversation-based pricing to a per-message pricing model for template messages. Here’s what to expect:

  • 🔄 Conversations will no longer be charged — instead, you pay per message based on the template type.

  • 🆓 Utility Templates sent within the 24-hour support window will be FREE

  • 🆓 Service Conversations are FREE since Nov 1, 2024

  • 🔁 Click-to-WhatsApp Ads & Facebook CTA buttons will still open 72-hour free sessions

✅ Your cost will now more closely reflect what you actually send, not just open a conversation.

If a user clicks a Click-to-WhatsApp Ad or a Facebook CTA button, and you reply within 24 hours, Meta gives you:

  • A 72-hour free session to message without additional charge

  • This also closes all open conversations during this period

  • You can send any type of message (template or non-template) during that time

All charges strictly follow Meta’s rate cards. We do not add a margin.

 

📜 Policy Reminders

  • 📆 After 24h of user inactivity, only templates can be used to start a chat.

  • 🚫 Messages sent outside the support window without templates will fail.

  • 📊 Every template is classified by Meta as Marketing, Utility, or Authentication. Choose wisely for cost control.
